2008 Honda Accord Interior Unmasked

So up until now, all we've seen have been a couple of camo shots of the next Accord, a couple of clean shots of the next Accord (thanks to a leaky brochure picture shoot), and a pile of tarp covered interior shots with a glimpse here and there of what to expect.

Well behold. It is upon us- the 2008 Honda Accord interior.

First impressions? Thankfully, a lot of the hints that it would mimic the Civic have proven to be untrue. Going from the pictures alone, the interior looks to once again lead the segment. The Indiglo Camry theme is lackluster compared to this. The GM triplets all suffer from varying degrees of cheapness and rubbery looks and feels, not to mention plug and play radio and HVAC placements. The Altima looks plain next to this. Yup, Honda seems to have hit another homerun.

It looks like a big ATM machine.

Looks nice to me. I love how the H is covered by tape on the steering wheel, then the navigation screen displays it instead.

As far as the design itself, it reminds me a lot of the 2003-2007's, especially in the lower half. I'm glad they spruced it up a little bit (around the gauges, and in horizontal trim pieces). I prefer the round temp adjustment knobs in the old car to the up/down rocker switches, and I wish they'd get rid of the plain "Arial" font on all the switches and gauges. Still, seems to be a nice car. I'd like to take one for a spin.

The interior is pretty bad. Too many lines, shapes and intersection.

Honda again copied the design cues both outside and inside from BMW, however, the finished product is much less pleasing.

Yet another car company giving up comfort for "style". With the vents lowered you can now be assured that your right hand will be freezing and your face hot

Vents up high gives a clean shot of AC to the face during the summer (and they are getting warmer as we know). Vents in the middle gives frostbitten fingers in the summer.

This is a great interior. I always say that the interior of the car is more important to me than the exterior and this is just great looking. I was going to purchase a car 3 months ago....I have waited an extra 3 months just so I could buy either buy the 2008 Honda Accord (this) or the 2008 Mazda 6. If this is what the interior is...then I think I am going with the EX V6 with Navi and Sunroof for about $30K and keep it for the next 4 and odd years, hopefully.

I think the previous generation had a much cleaner lines and a better looking dash. Looks like something from an aircraft not an automobile.

WOW! This is a step up. I loved the BMW design, and now Honda. I am definetely going to think about purchasing this car. The Nav. system looks really sleek and cool. As for the position of the a/c vents you can just point them up to your hot face. It may look cluttered but i guess you can get used to it and when you do i think you will be pleased. This is a definite must buy.

I like the current/previous interior better but this was does look a lot better than the Camry w/ its cheap plastic in that greenish blue tint.
